The publishing house Boomkniga was founded by the organizers of the International Comics Festival Boomfest in 2008. It all began with a publication of fanzines, and by 2009 our compilation of stories called ChPh №2 was already shortlisted for the award of the largest European comics festival in Angouleme (France) in the category Best Alternative Comic Story. After that, the publishing company was registered, and we launched the publication of graphic novels. Today we publish comics of the best foreign and Russian authors, and each book release becomes a significant event. In 2017, the publishing house received a prize from the Embassy of France in Russia for publishing and promoting French comics. And in 2018, the portal comicsboom.net granted us the Best Publisher award for 2017.

Today our catalog includes such world-renowned artists as Tove Jansson, Hugo Pratt, Marjane Satrapi, David B., Miguel Gallardo, Emmanuel Guibert, Marc Boutavant, Brecht Evens, Lorenzo Mattotti, Joe Sacco, Craig Thompson, Manuele Fior, Thomas Ott, Alison Bechdel, Riad Sattouf, Joann Sfar, Gipi, Julie Doucet, Frederik Peeters, Rutu Modan and others.
